Over the last few years, composite decking has grown in popularity. It's quickly becoming a "must-have" outdoor item for homes and businesses all over the world. Composite decking is a high-quality alternative to traditional wood decking that has the look of natural wood but requires less maintenance.
On the market today, there are two types of composite decking. The first generation of composite decking is also known as uncapped composite decking. The second generation of composite decking is capped composite decking. Both are made through an extrusion process that combines recycled plastic and wood fiber. Capped composite decking, on the other hand, is protected by a protective polymer shell.
For decking projects, outdoor composite decking is a great option. Capped composite decking shares many of the same qualities as other premium composite decking materials, such as durability and resistance to rot, chipping, and warping. However, capped composite decking, which has a protective polymer shell, is more popular among high-end deck manufacturers. As a result, capped composite decking is more resistant to mold, water, and fading, in addition to the many benefits common to composites. Therefore capped composite decking is more expensive.
COOWIN® capped composite decking features a rugged polymer shield that covers the core 360 degrees. The core is made of wood fibers, PE polymers, and additives.COOWIN composite decking is more durable and safer than wood. You can use any composite decking product from COOWIN® with confidence. We will provide you with a high-quality outdoor deck that is far superior to traditional wood construction.

Capped composite decking is an enhanced version of the original product. It adds a polymer shell and a deep 3D embossed wood finish to the first generation of uncapped composite decking. The large, stiff molecules that cover the soft porous core reduce water absorption and allow the decking to last longer than the previous generation. Furthermore, it gives composite products a cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing finish.
First-generation composite wood decking fades slightly for the first few months, then the color remains consistent throughout. Thanks to the protection of the polymer shell, capped composite decking has better resistance to fading and staining. But in terms of slip resistance, on the other hand, capped composite decking still offers high slip resistance. But it is a little less slip-resistant than uncapped composite decking. As you can guess, this is due to its polymer (plastic) protective shell being slightly more slippery. If you are looking for composite decking with high slip resistance, then uncovered composite decking is for you. Composite decking with 3D wood grain or grooves provides more foot grip.
The polymer shell of Capped composite decking adds durability, scratch resistance, and abrasion resistance. UV inhibitors are also present in the capping. As a result, it lasts significantly longer than first-generation composite lumber decking. Both capped and uncapped composite decking are eco-friendly and provide exceptional value for your home. If you are thinking about constructing an outdoor project to add outdoor living space. COOWIN can assist you further.

Make sure your deck's joists are no more than 30 cm apart, allowing for double joists in cases where butt joints are required.
Install the first composite deck with precision using the starting fasteners. After that, matching hidden fasteners are recommended for a quick and secure installation.
Allow enough space between neighboring composite deck joints to allow for deck expansion.
Use a straight board to guide the circular saw when trimming to the size of the deck edge. This will give the composite trim board a more defined edge.
