Composite decking has grown in popularity over the past several years. It is rapidly becoming a "must-have" outdoor product for all homes and businesses. Composite decking is an excellent alternative to traditional wood flooring, providing the appearance of natural wood with the added advantage of low maintenance.
There are currently two types of composite decking on the market. Composite decking without a cap is also referred to as the first generation of composite decking. The second generation of composite decking is capped composite decking. Both are produced by extrusion using a mixture of recycled plastic and wood fiber. However, capped composite decking is encased in a polymer shell for added protection.
For decking projects, outdoor composite decking is an excellent option. Capped composite possesses many of the same qualities as other premium composite decking materials, including high resistance to rot, chipping, and warping. However, capped composite decking with a protective polymer shell is more popular among high-end deck manufacturers. In addition to the numerous advantages of composites, capped composite decking is more resistant to mold, water, and fading. This is the reason why capped composite decking is more expensive.
The core of COOWIN® capped composite decking is completely covered by a polymer shield. Wood fibers, PE polymers, and additives compose the core. Composite decking from COOWIN is more durable and safer than wood decking. You can utilize any COOWIN® composite decking product with confidence. We will provide you with an outdoor deck of superior quality to conventional wood construction.

Capped composite decking is an enhanced version of the initial product generation. Compared to the first generation of uncapped composite decking, this product features a polymer shell and a 3D wood finish that is deeply embossed. Large, rigid molecules covering the soft, porous core reduce water absorption and increase the durability of the decking compared to the previous generation. In addition, it provides composite products with a cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing finish.
The color of first-generation composite wood decking fades slightly during the first few months but then remains uniform thereafter. Capped composite decking is more resistant to fading and staining as a result of the polymer shell that protects it. However, in terms of slip resistance, capped composite decking still provides a high level of slip resistance. However, it is slightly less slip-resistant than composite decking without a cap. As you may have guessed, this is because its polymer (plastic) shell is slightly more slippery. If you are looking for composite decking with high slip resistance, you should consider uncovered composite decking. Decking made of composite material with 3D wood grain or grooves provides increased foot traction.
The polymer shell of Capped composite decking adds durability, scratch resistance, and abrasion resistance. Additionally, the capping contains UV inhibitors. As a result, it has a much longer lifespan than composite decking from the first generation. Both capped and uncapped composite decking materials are eco-friendly and provide unrivaled value for the home. If you are considering adding outdoor living space to your outdoor project, consider the following: COOWIN can do more to help you.
There are numerous benefits to composite decking trim boards, and you may already be aware of some of them. However, it may not be exhaustive, so let's examine the benefits of composite decking next.
1. Virtually no maintenance is necessary. Unlike wood decks, which require routine upkeep, composite decks just require routine cleaning. This will save you a great deal of time and money on upkeep. This is among the greatest benefits of composite decking.
2. Simple to clean. For people who enjoy living outdoors, outdoor decks frequently collect food leftovers, oil stains, and other debris. These spills might be tough to clean up from wooden decks. For composite decking, however, you simply need a rag and soapy water to finish the cleaning process.
3. Hidden fasteners. The majority of composite decking brands provide matching hidden fasteners. Hidden fasteners are advantageous for providing a deck a cleaner appearance.
4. Waterproof. On typical wood decks, water can produce mold and mildew, leading to deck decay. Moldy and rotting outdoor decks pose safety dangers to individuals. Composite decking will not experience these issues.
5. Numerous colors and finishes. The majority of composite decking producers provide a wide variety of color options. Similarly to COOWIN, you can tailor the surface and color of your deck to your exact specifications. This lays the groundwork for establishing a distinctive outdoor deck design.
6. Complete protection. Capped composite decking provides complete protection all the way around the board, including the curved and grooved areas.
7. Outstanding insect protection. Wooden structures are frequently corroded by termites and other pests, posing a significant threat to your health and safety. With composite materials, there is no need to worry about termites or other pests.
8.No need for painting or staining. Composite ornamental panels are highly resistant to fading. Therefore, the strong composite deck does not need to be repainted every few years.
9. Long service life. The outstanding performance of composite materials ensures their durability. And longer service life results in a greater utility value.
